Paulina is leaving

Today it's a sad day because Paulina(the mexican trainee of AIESEC Iasi) is leaving. Her traineeship it's over. She was the first trainee this year that arrived in Iasi and she spent 9 beautiful months here. This 9 months were full of parties , crazy weekends, cooking nights. I will never forget Paulina because she was the one that made us enjoy the adventure of living and brought in Iasi the Latino spirit.
On friday night it was a good-bye party for Paulina and Sebastian (trainee from Germany matched by me who will leave Iasi on 14th) and I had doubts if I should come because I'm not in AIESEC anymore. Paulina told me: "come on ..you should come ...pana mea ...you were part of my experience. Don't care about people just come for me" .....
Touching words that meant a lot for me because it's great to know that I had an impact on somebody else life and that I was part of her experience. I hope someday i will have the chance to visit her and Marco (other trainee from Mexico) because they are true friends. I feelt them very close and they thought me to live my life at high volume and smile with my heart. There were 9 months in a multicultural environment , meeting people from countries like : Argentina, Italy, Turkey, Czech Republic, Hong-Kong, Spain , France, Danemark, Germany , Ukraine, etc.

I will miss you Paulina and I will never forget you!

I will miss the crazy weekends, cooking nights, Qvinta nights, pubs nights.

But seen you soon!

My AIESEC experience IS OVER

I was thinking a lot this days about how to explain my feelings related to the fact that my AIESEC XP is over. It's very hard for me and I hope till the end of this post I will not start crying.

I feel the need to share and also I want people to know the reasons why I have been kicked out from this magical organization that was part of my life (for 2 great years) and that will remain part of my life even if i have to build my own life experience, my own learning circle and try to strive for excellence and achieve great results.

I was recruited in 2004 in October and I had different experiences that helped in the process of being an change agent and I have learnt a lot:
I was part of the organizing committee of 3 great projects: Training Center, Alumni Congress, Role-Taking Responsibility stage)I have learnt many usefull things like: working in a team, to communicate, to accept that people in a team do not see things or deadliness like I do, conflict management inside of a team, public speaking skills, promotion skills, working under pressure.

After taking responsibility I had the chance to experience LEADERSHIP. First of all, I was the Organizing committee president of a national conference(OGX&PD functional Meeting). I've learnt many usefull things about conference management , how to manage a team , efficient meetings , working under pressure and together with my team managed to organize a great conference.Other leadership experience was when I was elected as Organizing committee president of CEE PBOX: Business Expansion. This project wasn't a great achievement for my local committee but for me was a huge learning experience.

I was SOL coordinator @Romania and manage to organize a national sol campaign and change some paradigms related to this issue.I've made people aware of the fact that we should help eachother and we should cooperate.
For 8 months I have been part of National Exchange team but i didn't manage to finish my term.

But what I enjoyed most in AIESEC where the people I've meet. I have a huge network of contacts and what I love most was living diversity each day. I was very interested about this part and i had the luck to bring(to match) in my local committee 6 great trainees: Marco (Mexico), Glen (USA), Luca(Italy), Cihan(Turkey), Kate(Ukraine), Sebastian(Germany) and also I've matched one girl (SN)in Poland.

I was at 15 AIESEC conferences:
-6 Local
-8 National
-1 international

It's very hard to write in few lines my huge AIESEC experience and it's very hard to understand that there is life after AIESEC...but I'm even more stronger and I know that one day I will comeback.

Why I have been kicked out? I've got two warnings from AIESEC IASI. Our internal rules and stipulation mention the fact that when an AIESEC Iasi member receives two warnings he or she can be excluded from AIESEC Iasi. Also this has to be voted by the majority of the full members.

Now it's an unpleasant part but let's try to explain...It's strange for me because i'm not crying but in fact I suffered a lot till now. I think after this message my soul will be free.

The first warning i've got was in the summer of 2005. We had a ceeder from Poland that arrived in the Bucharest airport and my mistake was that I've called somebody from @Bucharest to pick her up from the airoport even if two persons from executive bord told me not to phone them. It was very strange for me because their answer was: "Let the person stay in the airport because we can't find somebody" but I was human and I've tried to find somebody for her and I had luck to find somebody.
My mistake was that i've made a huge confusion about the hour when she will arrive to Romania.

The second warning was because I applied at an international conference as facilitator without announcing the people from executive board. I know this was a huge mistake but I didn't do it on purpose. It was 2 o'clock in the night when I applied.

I'm really sorry for what happened!!!

AIESEC has been the best choice for me until now (but unfortunatelly it's over), because it has changed me, the way I am , the way I interact , and the way I think more than I could have imagined. Coming in contact with AIESEC in 2004 was the greatest thing that could have happened to me. Every day I find new opportunities to develop myself and to make a change in the world. It helped me to think outside the box(I have a @ t-shirt with this :”Think out of the box”) , overcome paradigms , open my eyes and see how many things are to be done.Because of AIESEC I developed my own personal values , a vision and I’m doing my best to achieve it.

I know that i will comeback one day. My dream is that in 2013 my company will sign partnership with AIESEC ROMANIA in NPS(the biggest national conference).

Even if my life in AIESEC has an tragic end i will support AIESEC and i will try to become partner and sustain their projects.

I will make a movie about my AIESEC XP and I will post it soon on my blog ...all the beautiful moments I've experienced, all the people I've meet and What was AIESEC for me in pictures in two greatest years I've spent in this magical organization that changed me a lot.

I hope that my AIESEC friends will remain close to me even if i'm no longer part of AIESEC.

It's been a while

It's been almost 3 months since I've last written something here.I think it was because i wasn't in the mood to share my experiences. What happened with me?

LPM 2006-Vatra Dornei
21-23 July

This conference was held at Vatra Dornei-Incom(a place full of memories because my first AIESEC conference it was in the same location) I was eager to get there and remember my first AIESEC conference. I tried to take an active role during the sessions and I tried to help the new generation understand better the changes in the organization.
Related new generation I tried to motivate them because they are the future of AIESEC IASI.

For me this conference was full of motivation and helped me to overcome some problems I had.
I would like to congratulate the OC team for their passion and because they really motivate people to come and think innovative projects for the next year.

Next experience was the OGX&PD&Communication Functional Meeting which was held at Oglinzi(13th of August-16th of August). Last year I was OCP for this national conference which was my first national conference.
This year was organized by MC and they decided to organize it close to Iasi:) My parents took me&Iulius by car and I went there from Saturday even if the conference was from Sunday. AIESEC Bucharest had the BPM in the same location and I had a great time with them on Saturday and Sunday.

I had a great time at this conference because I had an important role (I had to co-facilitate a session with our beloved MCVP OGX Mo) and I was also part of Fun team(with Andy-Brasov and Vic-Timisoara) and tried to help the OC (Dragos from Iasi -a guy that did a great job) I felt the passion , the ambition and the hard work that people will put in recruiting the new generation of leaders.

An important step in the process of becoming a trainer

Yesterday I have received an email:

"Yo, AIESEC!
First of all, congratulations to all of you, and may we have a wonderful conference together! As you probably know, in order to offer you the most relevant experience, the conference date has changed with 1 day. I other words, the new dates are 30.06-3.07.
For any major complaints / impossibility to attend, we are waiting for your e-mails.Details regarding the location and how to get there will be provided in a future e-mail.For any other information, our operators are standing by ;)

Have an insightful day,Robert(conference manager)"

My NEXT @XP will be TTT in Sibiu organized by NTT. I have been selected to participate as delegate ...This is an important step in my @Life and also for my carrer. I gave a thought of becoming a profesional trainer and also to have a training company in the future so I really consider it’s a good idea.AIESEC made me more people oriented than I was before joining it. I always liked working with people and I hope this conference will improve some skills and gonna teach me how to make a quality delivery.

I have huge expectations from this conference and I'm very happy that 75% of sessions will be held by externals.
My expectations related to this conference are:
Ø To get me started in my path as a trainer (to give me what I lack in my knowledge ,skills, attitude for being a real trainer)
Ø to increase my network of contacts (to interact will all the delegates)
Ø to develop myself, to interact with people, to learn more about what a being a great trainer means, and how to keep improving your skills, attitude and knowledge, to discover new things related to what’s behind a training, how do I make a good training…
Ø to be fun
Ø to be challenging

I'm very happy because I will meet my friends: Cristi (OCP TTT ) , Anca and Adi that were also selected for this wonderfull conference. Cristi , Anca, Adi are special friends with whom I was at Pbox Conference in Hungary.

My first step in the process of becoming a trainer had started in MPN where I had to deliver a session with Iulius about opportunities in AIESEC. I felt great and I want to apply as facilitator at Rock Me and NPS.

I'm sure I will have a great time in Sibiu ...

let's start the revolution !!!

Full members validation

Yesterday was "Full members validation" in AIESEC Iasi and Yes after one year and a half of AIESEC i can say that I'm a full member. I had 9 votes pro and 4 negative votes (with 8 votes you are full member because yesterday were 13 full members and you need half plus one to become a full member...Last year in november when it was the Full members validation I had 7 votes and I needed 4 more votes to pass.

I was standing for the second time in front of the full members of our LC , realising how much I have changed , realising that @ is more about friends, passion, values about my values that I developed during LMS: Challenge -Synergy-Believe-Achieve.

I was wondering the days before validation If the full members will vote me and I had big doubts ..I don't know why but during my presentation I had emotions ...When Andreea our beloved LCP announced the results i was scared but finaly everything was ok :)

At the end:

"I love being in AIESEC IASI because this is where my friends are, this is where I learn and this way I can make a difference. The base of what I do everyday are my values, values which give me a broad perspective, which help me change myself and everything around me...
...This is how we think in over 80 countries!

Members of AIESEC in Iasi

For this moment I'm investing all my time in learning (I'm praying to take all the exams in the first exam session and also in National eXchange team. My dream is to go this summer at You Can.

I'll be back soon to post my @XPerience at National Congress and about what I enjoy most in AIESEC: Living diversity

Same Alex,
Enjoying the adventure of Living

Running for TL IT&SOFTWARE market

One week ago I took the decision to run for TL IT&SOFTWARE on ICX

So yesterday we had elections..

As Zeno was saying in his blog "when your best isn't good enough". The EB thought that the other candidate , Andrei was more suitable for this position.

I did my best and I failed... but it was a quite nice experience of learning :) I can say that I knew the result from the beginning. It's strange but I knew it:) I was very calm after the announcement and also happy because another @XP helped me on the process of being a change agent.

I was prepared for both: getting or not elected. For me running as TL IT&SOFTWARE was an important thing that made me realize that I've learned many useful things that will help me in the future.
