I'm happy i was part of this global event. I'll post my impresions preety soon regarding this worldwide event. I'm happy because together with my team we managed to organize Pangea day in Iasi. It was an amazing achievement for us!

Pangea day tomorrow in Iasi

Tomorrow is May 10th - Pangea Day!

In 2006, filmmaker Jehane Noujaim wished for a day where people all over the world would unite through the power of film.

Now, two years later, Jehane's wish is coming true.

Millions of people in more than 150 countries will come together this Saturday at 18:00 GMT (21:00 Romanian hour) to watch a 4-hour program of 24 short films from storytellers around the world. Films were chosen based on their ability to inspire, transform and allow us to see the world through another person's eyes.

Pangea Day films will be coupled with talks from CNN's Christiane Amanpour, Queen Noor of Jordan, child soldier Ishmael Beah, and many more.

The program will be hosted by Lisa Ling, Current TV's Max and Jason, and June Arunga.

Pangea Day will also include live music, including performances by the Eurythmics' Dave Stewart, Gilberto Gil, Rokia Traore, Mohamed Mounir and Iranian rock band Hypernova.
Think of it as a global campfire, and an opportunity to take part in a moment in history.

Pangea day in Iasi -10 mai 2008, ora 21:00

Pangea Day este un proiect care are ca scop realizarea unei experinte comune care sa uneasca toata populatia globului, pentru o mai buna intelegere a oamenilor si a problemelor lor.

Momentan,in “Pangea Day”sunt implicate 180 de state din intreaga lume. Proiectul presupune vizionarea de filme, clipuri muzicale si unele discursuri pe teme de interes general in timp real, simultan, in intreaga lume, pe durata a patru ore.

Pe 10 mai, 2008 – Pangea Day – lume din intreaga lume se va uni pentru a trai o experienta comuna: vizionarea gratuita de filme create de intreaga lume pentru lume. Noua ne place sa il numim primul foc de tabara global.

Regizorul de filme documentare, Jehane Noujaim a creat Pangea Day dupa ce a castigat prestigiosul premiu TED, care garanteaza castigatorilor “o dorinta pentru a schimba lumea.”Dorinta creatoarei de film Jehane este : “A uni lumea prin puterea filmului. Primul pas spre pace mondiala este de a ne intalni unii cu ceilalti.”

Acest eveniment se va intampla in Iasi incepand cu ora 21:00 in sala Azur de la Casa de cultura a studentilor organizat de mine in parteneriat cu OSSEI si Lecupo.
