Germany here I come!


Today I'm leaving Iasi and tomorrow I'll be flying for the first time in my life. I'm going to Germany, Ilmenau for 12 days because I'm going to participate at International Students week, a festival known as ISWI.
I was selected to participate together with 400 students from 80 countries. I'm waiting eagerly because I love diversity. There will be 12 days of living diversity at high volume.
The theme of the festival is Time to think in relation with education. There will be workshops about education(education in the future,education and religion,education and ecology,education and science,psychology of learning,education and politics,education in changing times,education as human right), media , photography, design, literature, theatre,music, film , videoart. I'm waiting this festival since February when I heard I was selected.
I see this festival as a place where together with people from all over the world we will build a vision about Education, we will have a great time but the most important thing we will take time to think how we as individuals we can change something.
I have amazing feelings , emotions and I’m waiting eagerly to join the festival and together to brainstorm great ideas. To put our creativity in function in oder to have an IMPACT related to this issue. I think that we must realize that it’s time to think and act because now it’s a right moment for us to build a great learning system.

Performing my Life

I didn't post for long time on my blog but I have many interesting things to share.

Trying to perform my life at high volume and smile with my heart while I'm trying to build my dreams, my adventure of living , the new Me.I was trying to do this till now and I can say that I'm happy because I'm on the right track.

My personal objective for this year is to have an IMPACT on everything I do, for people I meet, for me. If 2005 was the year of PASSION, 2006-year of Experience , 2007 will be the year of great IMPACT.

Being conference manager for first SPP conference (26th-29 th April) was one of the most powerful experiences I passed because it was full of intensive moments, inspiring moments, moments I will never forget. I had the chance to work with a great team(Simo, Cosmin, Giani, Dragos) and together we succeeded in making things happen, a perfect learning environment where 30 people had the chance to DREAM, SMILe and use their creativity at high volume.

It's strange because it took time for me to blog my feelings regarding this conference. I was thinking a lot lately about what happened there, about my great team and the fact that at the end of the conference we realized that we succeeded in making a great team.

How was to be conference manager? After 16 conferences where I was delegate and thinking how it will be to be conference manager,to build the conference agenda and help delegates to feel good I had the chance to be. It was a long a journey that started on 24 March in Bucharest and it had the impact on 27-29 th April.

I felt responsible, I had butterflies in my stomach but I was ready to make things happen even if I encountered many challenges. There were people that motivated me to pass over and realize that I have a important mission to finish and at the end I'm happy I did it together with my great team!

I was saying that people motivate me a lot. I was happy to see that besides the challenges we had with the accomodation, the food and other things the delegates were flexible and eager to help the trainers team because they wanted to learn and have fun.

At the end of the conference I was smilling with my heart while I was reading all the beautiful messages I've received ...it was on the way backhome in my parents car and besides smilling I was blushing while my tears appeared. In 3 days people become very close to eachother and I can say after this wonderful conference we helped them and I'm proud of their growth.

Being conference manager -a great journey , a journey that made me realize I have things to improve, a great leadership experience ..but EMPOWER! "Connect the people with the end result, INVOLVE them in the result, process, vision!!!"

Cosmin: Hope you're not mad on me. I know that we had a lot of problems during the conference and I want to thank you for your calm and for the fact that you broke some of your values in order to make things happen. Hope you've enlarged your network of contacts that will help you with your projects

My strenghts

David J. Pollay, AIESEC International Hall of Fame member and President of The Momentum Project, is leading the International Leadership Strengths Research Project in conjunction with the University of Pennsylvania. The mission of this research project is to help leaders become more aware of their strengths, and to encourage these leaders to fully develop their strengths in support of their goals. More than 1,000 leaders from nearly 100 countries are involved in this research project.

An analysis is being conducted to determine if leaders in an organization have a distinct strengths profile compared to others of a similar age and education. We are using the VIA Signature Strengths Survey to measure the strengths of leaders. Click here for an overview of the VIA Signature Strengths Survey.

Mr. Pollay presented the results of the first phase of this research at the International Positive Psychology Summit in Washington, D.C. in October, 2006. His paper was titled, "Strengths Profiles of Leaders in Organizations."

Delegates first email

Postul asta va fi in romaneste. In calitate de conference manager al primei conferintei SPP am trimis un email pe grupul lor sa-i motivez sa vina la conferinta.

Pot sa va zic doar ca pe langa lucrurile practice pe care le vom invata gen lucrul in echipa, proactivitate, managementul proiectelor, time management, teamwork , etc ne vom simti bine impreuna incercand sa construim echipa SPP!

Cine va vor ajuta? Suntem o echipa de 5 traineri pe care ne uneste pasiunea pentru training, pentru oameni, pentru faptul ca vrem sa aducem o schimbare si vrem sa impartasim din cunostintele pe care l-am acumulat in decursul a peste 30 de conferinte la care am participat(atat locale, nationale si internationale atat ca traineri cat si delegati), faptul ca vrem sa lucram in resurse umane sau psihologia resurselor umane

WI-FI in my room


I can't sleep....I have wi-fi in my room! that's great...I found an WI-fi neighborhood network and I'm enjoying even if the signal is not good. But I need to locate from where I receive the signal in order to know where to stay with my laptop.

:)

Now I can open internet websites....it's a progress because till now I had the chance to connect only to skype and no messenger, no msn , no websites because the signal was very low.I'm curious from where I receive the wi-fi signal because not all the time is working.

I'm the bird of night :) Enjoying my adventure of living with WI-FI!

Training or learning?

I was thinking what is the difference between training and learning? If there is any difference or not. I had the chance to be "teacher" for one hour few weeks ago when after 3 years of faculty I went back to my highschool (where I learnt for 8 years...Colegiul National Iasi".
For me it was a powerful learning experience and I was glad to see that besides my bad impressions about the new generation people prove to be very opened and the most important one interested to build a good future for them and do extra school activities.

That's nice...and I'm impressed!

I was invited by my history teacher to motivate people, to talk with teenagers (11th grade)about the first edition of an project management contest I've participated when I was in highschool"Europa la liceu" (May 2004) when together with my team we won the prize for the best planned project but the most important thing to share my impressions after 3 years of high volume by having the most interesting experiences that helped me to be the person I am today.

It was a great day for me...being in front of 30 people but the most important of unknow people and teenagers with different values and vision about the "pursuit of happyness " ...sharing my impressions about education and about the fact that I want to make a change in this field,about ways of unleashing their potential in order to have a great IMPACT ,being asked by them about AIESEC and voluntary work made my smile. I had emotions at the beginning when I started my speach but after few minutes I felt very close to them and when the bell rang announcing the break I was upset but happy that I had a great learning experience. It was a nice hour and also because people asked me questions.

Another inspiring moment for me was when our teacher show me the"Jean Monett" classroom where I saw a special panel with diplomas and photos about this great contest I've had the chance to participate and also about the 2005 edition when another team from my highschool won a diploma. Also my diploma will remain in that classroom over years and hope my kids will have the chance to learn in the same highschool to see my diploma but not only because of this: because of the fact that my highschool is one of the most important ones from Iasi..but it's up to them!

I'm proud about my highschool, about the teachers that made me think that I can push my limits and dream to achieve great things or in other words DREAM BIG. Teachers were the ones that shaped my personality even if when I was in highschool I hated them, I'm proud about the teenagers that want to strive for excellence and mentain our highschool in tops , about the teachers that want to build a modern learning environment, about international projects developed by my highschool.

What is the connection between training or learning?

Important principles:

  • focus on learning, not training (Training is about the organisation. Learning is about the person.)
  • focus on emotional maturity, integrity, compassion - these are the characteristics that really matter
  • develop the person, not just the skills and knowledge (Skills and knowledge are the easy things. Most people will take care of these for themselves. Helping and enabling and encouraging people to become happier more fulfilled people is what employers and organisations should focus on. Achieve this and the skills and knowledge will largely take care of themselves...
  • give people choice

Give people choice in what, and how and when to learn and develop - there is a world of choice out there, and so many ways to access it all. People have different learning styles, rates of learning, and areas of interest. Why restrict people's learning and development to their job skills? Help them learn and develop in whatever way they want and they will quite naturally become more positive, productive and valuable to your organisation. (You may need to find bigger and/or different roles for them, but that's entirely the point - you want people to be doing what they are good at, and what they enjoy - this is what a good organisation is.)

In the end I feel great when I have the chance to motivate people and make them dream that they can change something. After this experience I enriched my network of contacts by becoming friend with two great girls. (One skipped my class...but she added me on messenger and we talk about life in general and I was impressed to see how she is thinking and also we have the same values, thoughts and belifies.

SPP -A new journey in my life

What is SPP? SPP stands for "Societatea pentru psihologie" and it's Simo's baby. What will be my connection with SPP? Simo proposed me to deliver some trainings on teambuilding to get them motivated and help them build successful projects. My proposal for them was to make their first conference and be conference manager.

It all started in Bucharest , at Phoenicia, last weekend when we had a great night dreaming and getting to know eachother better but the most important thing building a vision and an interesting project. SPP will be my NEXT project and i'm eager to take this challenge. After AIESEC I feel motivated to help people around me and share the knowledge I received during several preparation programs I took part.

And I think one of my main objectives this year :"to have an impact " on everything I do will be accomplished

On wednesday I was at SPP's meeting and I was impressed by the fact that their members want to make a change and want to make a difference. I felt very good to see this thing and I'm waiting eagerly to build a proper learning environment for them during their first conference and help them build as a team.

I have butterflies in my stomach because it will be my first experience as conference manager for an student organization I don't know, for unknow people but for organization that will start an important page in their history. I have emotions and hope everything will be great for them.

But the most important thing is that I have the passion to make important things for them and at the end of the conference I want to smile with my heart as Ilinca was saying. A challenging experience in front of me...

I started to find trainers ....5 trainers will be part of my team (Dragos, Cosmin,Alex-@-ers, Simo, and one external: Dragos's mother that will deliver trainings on emotional intelligence) , think of agenda (blocks like: Building the organization vision, teambuilding, and develop their skills on topics like project management, presentation skills, teamwork, creativity, proactivity , change management), search for proper and cheap location ....be conference manager , oc and fun team together with my team in order to help them build as a great team!

Mad days in Iasi

Mad days in Iasi (Moldovian Advertising Day) great event organized by Advero. Unfortunately I won't be in Iasi and I can't attend but I'm looking forward to hear news about what happened from Andrei -a friend of mine that worked hard to turn his ideas into practice. There will be many events during this 3 days but I'm sad I can't be there to attend workshops held by Marius Ursache (on branding), Costin and Elena on planning.

A great concert at the end with Al Jawala, a German band with an eclectic sound, mixing Balkan rhythms, drum'n'bass, jazz and funk.

Another experience soon in Bucharest

Today I went with Simo to buy tickets for an amazing experience that will enrich my adventure of living. I applied for a great event organized by SAAR (Romanian Academic Society) and I'm looking forward having a great time in Bucharest. Everything seems to be great. We will stay at 4 stars hotel,Phoenicia that has an interesting presentation on their website: "The biggest hotel built in Romania after 1990 "

I'm sure I will have an wonderful time there because I will meet with special persons for me that I haven't seen for about 3-4 years. The conference will be organized at World Trade Center for 2 days and we will try to build a vision together with 40 people from the country regarding some issues that European Union is facing:
  • Energy & Environment: The environmental and economic impact of Europe’s energy use
  • Family & Social Welfare: The social and economic conditions for Europe’s families - EU’s
  • Global Role & Immigration: The EU’s role in the world and the management of immigration

This event is called "European Citizean Consultation" and is one of the biggest ever pan-European consultation exercise designed to ensure that the public’s voice is heard by governments and policy-makers in the current debate over the European Union’s future direction following the No votes to the EU’s Constitutional Treaty in France and the Netherlands in 2005.

What is interesting? The event will take place in the same time with similiar events in other countries like : Great Britain, Sweden, Malta and Italy.

It's the first time when I have the chance to report live and blog my feelings from the event because I will have internet wireless.

So I'll be back soon with photos, impresions , feelings and thoughts.

Storm of thougts

It's saturday morning and I woke up at 7:00 o'clock. It's very strange for me to wake up at this hour on saturday morning. Even if I have exam today that is at 17:00 o'clock.

Something strange is happening with me. Maybe I'm tired of learning but my soul is like a storm of thoughts and I'm eagerly waiting to finish the exam session to Start the new path in my life. Since I left AIESEC I was searching for opportunities and ways of unleashing my potential. I've discovered many interesting things in the real life and I'm sure that this year I will have a great IMPACT on everything I do.

Learning for exams made me reflect about Education. It was time to think how can I change something in the educational system in Romania, How can I have an Impact for the new generation of young people that are playing computer games instead reading books..

I'm so afraid about the new generation ... they have the tools but they don't use them efficiently. I was thinking if I can make a change I must start from the lowest level...kindergarten and maybe private school! I know that it's early to talk about such dreams but I'm sure that the IMPACT I want to have in this world is related to community!

Ya IT's Time to Think and ACT...all of us must realize that we must have an impact in the educational system. Only together we can change something and make a better system. It is said, it's one of the mainstays of the civilisation. It brings us the knowledge that can relieve world suffering and is further yet present in change, plight and rebuilding. It generates the gaps which is meant to close. For some it is the highest ambition , for others a necesarry evil.

I talk about education!

This is the first part about my storm of thoughts related to EDUCATION! I need to go and study because I have 2 more exams and after I'm free to reflect and share my storm of thougts. I need to make an essay about about education in relation with the motto "Time to think"

The world of blogging

I've discovered the world of blogging last year and I decided to have my own blog as a personal learning tool that will help me in the proces of being a change agent. I see the world of bloging as a learning environment where I can express my feelings, share my knowledge and create my own playground, my own space. In our country we don't have too many blogs but I know till the end of the year there will be more.

Blogfest is a great opportunity developed by bloggers from Bucharest.As I said in one of the previous messages they want to create a romanian blog community. They have physical meetings and discuss many interesting things.

People get attracted day by day by the world of blogging ..Some use their blog to share their life experience (personal blog) , other use their blog to share information and other use their blog to post interesting photos(photo blogs).

I was thinking this year to make a change... To get a balance in my blog! To share my personal feelings and also to get a profesional approach and market my blog.
I've found a great article about how to promote your blog. Some tips:

1 Write well, write consistently, don’t give up: All the marketing in the world won’t help you if you have a lame-duck blog. In your search for more traffic, more promotion, and more publicity, never forget it starts with great content — and needs to continue with great content on a regular schedule. Why I like HI-Q?

Lately I was thinking somewhere far away...I miss something!
My best summer holiday was the summer of 2005 and I remember the song"Dor de tine, dor de noi"(HI-Q) was my favourite at that time.Even if it was only a short holiday(1 week and a half) it was the most intensive experience I had.I spent this holiday with a special person that will always have a place in my heart.

She's the one who made me enjoy the adventure of living...
She's the one who made me run for another leadership opportunity...
She's the one who made me live that summer at high volume, with my smile on my face..
She's the one who made me feel free and happy!
She's the one who is inspiring me everyday and I will never forget her!

We had a 3 days weekend at seaside...going there and having no accomodation,having the most intensive 3 days of my life because everything was great. Every experience we had made us forget about the hard year we had working on different projects and we reloaded our batteries for autumn.

Sleeping on the beach, seeing the sunset and sunrise, being lost in Constanta because we didn't pay attention where we had to get off the bus, taking the last maxi-taxi to Mangalia and the last one for Vama Veche, seeing Misa in Costinesti,listen good music at Stufstock and many more.

Every time I hear at the radio this song, I think about her and those beautiful days,and that makes me feel so good!

After this weekend I comeback in my city for 2-3 days to wash my clothes and to prepare for the greatest journey of my life till now...to Experience the Unknown!

I've decided to go to Timisoara and visit her (12 hours in the train) I just know that i took the train from Iasi at 6 o'clock in the morning and the next day at 1 o'clock in the night I was in Timisoara! I don't know how the hours passed so easy but seeing her waiting me in the railway station made me SMILE with my heart.

Timisoara-the most beautiful city for me because our story was full of inspiring moments, reflections about the future, building a vision for our development and enjoying the adventure of living. Being only with her I was free to dream big somewhere far away..it was the first time when I was thinking that distance relationship can resist and surive!

There are 2 songs that remind me about her, about all the beautiful moments we had that summer...about our summer when we were free to SMILE, DREAM BIG, FLY AND PLAN the future!

Pic of the day


Last week I've been with Simo to a cartoon exhibition related to Romania's integration in the european Union.

I saw there interesting cartoons and great ways of expressing the integration in the European Union for some countries like: Slovakia, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria.
For this exhibition , with title (Ten more for Europe) , the most known cartoonists from the new European countries illustrated their worries, waitings and hopes about European Union.
The ideea of this exhibition is old and belongs to Giselei Burkamp, historic, art critic and Dieter Burkamp. They published many catalogues , articles and studied the cartoon theme for about 30 years.

People

I was saying that we should let ourselves amazed by people and the experiences that we have in our life.
Sebastian (Trainee from Germany matched by me) told me when he finnished his traineeship that "I want to thank you for many things...you matched me so you have been the guilty one that brought me to Romania :-p...and you showed me the first impressions of Iasi...so at least you are the man of the first hour!"

and "Let me give you some things on your way, try not to be so sad about bad things or too excited about good things...bad stuff is happening...but even the aiesec-thing will not kick you down...good stuff also happens, and it is important to enjoy it but when it is over you cannot do anything against it...just live your life and try to make the best out of it.
You will have many good thoughts about us trainees so take them in your mind and remember when you feel bad...life goes on man...new things, new people, new experiences..."

The last days of the year I spent with friends that made me enjoy the adventure of living ..I feel lucky to have friends. I was thinking that I have a huge network of contacts and every person helped me and teach how to live my life at high volume with my smile on my face. Every person we meet enriches our life experience.

I would like to thank you all for being part of my life , for the fact that you made my life more interesting!

2006 was full of amazing people that were part of my life and I'm waiting anxiously for new experiences, new things , new people .....the NEW YEAR!!!

Paulina is leaving




Today it's a sad day because Paulina(the mexican trainee of AIESEC Iasi) is leaving. Her traineeship it's over. She was the first trainee this year that arrived in Iasi and she spent 9 beautiful months here. This 9 months were full of parties , crazy weekends, cooking nights. I will never forget Paulina because she was the one that made us enjoy the adventure of living and brought in Iasi the Latino spirit.
On friday night it was a good-bye party for Paulina and Sebastian (trainee from Germany matched by me who will leave Iasi on 14th) and I had doubts if I should come because I'm not in AIESEC anymore. Paulina told me: "come on ..you should come ...pana mea ...you were part of my experience. Don't care about people just come for me" .....
Touching words that meant a lot for me because it's great to know that I had an impact on somebody else life and that I was part of her experience. I hope someday i will have the chance to visit her and Marco (other trainee from Mexico) because they are true friends. I feelt them very close and they thought me to live my life at high volume and smile with my heart. There were 9 months in a multicultural environment , meeting people from countries like : Argentina, Italy, Turkey, Czech Republic, Hong-Kong, Spain , France, Danemark, Germany , Ukraine, etc.

I will miss you Paulina and I will never forget you!

I will miss the crazy weekends, cooking nights, Qvinta nights, pubs nights.

But seen you soon!

Everybody's free

Everybody's free to smile, to fly and dream big.Somebody was saying to me that life is the sum of all the shiny and dark moments, of happy and sad ones, of all the people we meet and experience we pass.She told me that the best wishes that she has for me is that I must live 100% every piece of this big puzzle that life is composed of.

We should grow by adding every piece but the most important thing is to remember everytime only those moments that make us smile.

We should let ourselves amazed by people and the experiences that we have in our life.The future belongs only to those that have the hands painted by watercolour, of those that have the power to paint their dreams on cloth reality. Only one thing can prevent the brush to send away the fear of failure. This thing is to smile everyday and to enjoy the adventure of living. Carpe diem principle

Ilinca was saying "A day without smiling is a wasted day". That's true ...and that's what I was trying to do in the last 6 years. I had great moments and every experience was something different that made me enjoy the adventure of living. Every experience I passed was my own learning circle and was part of the big puzzle that life is composed of. As you see I'm more reflective on this message because it's the end of the year and I must analyze if this year was good or not.


Enjoy the power and beauty of your youth.
Oh, nevermind, you won't understand the power and beauty of your youth until they've faded, but trust me in 20 years, you'll look back at photos of yourself and recall in a way you can't grasp now how much possibility lay before you and how fabulous you really looked. You are not as fat as you imagine.

Don't worry about the future, or worry, but know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubblegum.

The real troubles in your life are apt to be things that never crossed your worried mind: the kind that blindsides you at 4pm on some idle Tuesday.

Advice is a form of nostalgia; dispensing it is a way of wishing the past from the disposal-wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts, and recycling it for more than it's worth.

My AIESEC experience IS OVER

I was thinking a lot this days about how to explain my feelings related to the fact that my AIESEC XP is over. It's very hard for me and I hope till the end of this post I will not start crying.

I feel the need to share and also I want people to know the reasons why I have been kicked out from this magical organization that was part of my life (for 2 great years) and that will remain part of my life even if i have to build my own life experience, my own learning circle and try to strive for excellence and achieve great results.

I was recruited in 2004 in October and I had different experiences that helped in the process of being an change agent and I have learnt a lot:
I was part of the organizing committee of 3 great projects: Training Center, Alumni Congress, Role-Taking Responsibility stage)I have learnt many usefull things like: working in a team, to communicate, to accept that people in a team do not see things or deadliness like I do, conflict management inside of a team, public speaking skills, promotion skills, working under pressure.

After taking responsibility I had the chance to experience LEADERSHIP. First of all, I was the Organizing committee president of a national conference(OGX&PD functional Meeting). I've learnt many usefull things about conference management , how to manage a team , efficient meetings , working under pressure and together with my team managed to organize a great conference.Other leadership experience was when I was elected as Organizing committee president of CEE PBOX: Business Expansion.This project wasn't a great achievement for my local committee but for me was a huge learning experience.

I was SOL coordinator @Romania and manage to organize a national sol campaign and change some paradigms related to this issue.I've made people aware of the fact that we should help eachother and we should cooperate.
For 8 months I have been part of National Exchange team but i didn't manage to finish my term.

But what I enjoyed most in AIESEC where the people I've meet. I have a huge network of contacts and what I love most was living diversity each day. I was very interested about this part and i had the luck to bring(to match) in my local committee 6 great trainees: Marco (Mexico), Glen (USA), Luca(Italy), Cihan(Turkey), Kate(Ukraine), Sebastian(Germany) and also I've matched one girl (SN)in Poland.

I was at 15 AIESEC conferences:
-6 Local
-8 National
-1 international

It's very hard to write in few lines my huge AIESEC experience and it's very hard to understand that there is life after AIESEC...but I'm even more stronger and I know that one day I will comeback.

Why I have been kicked out? I've got two warnings from AIESEC IASI. Our internal rules and stipulation mention the fact that when an AIESEC Iasi member receives two warnings he or she can be excluded from AIESEC Iasi. Also this has to be voted by the majority of the full members.

Now it's an unpleasant part but let's try to explain...It's strange for me because i'm not crying but in fact I suffered a lot till now. I think after this message my soul will be free.

The first warning i've got was in the summer of 2005. We had a ceeder from Poland that arrived in the Bucharest airport and my mistake was that I've called somebody from @Bucharest to pick her up from the airoport even if two persons from executive bord told me not to phone them. It was very strange for me because their answer was: "Let the person stay in the airport because we can't find somebody" but I was human and I've tried to find somebody for her and I had luck to find somebody.
My mistake was that i've made a huge confusion about the hour when she will arrive to Romania.

The second warning was because I applied at an international conference as facilitator without announcing the people from executive board. I know this was a huge mistake but I didn't do it on purpose. It was 2 o'clock in the night when I applied.

I'm really sorry for what happened!!!


AIESEC has been the best choice for me until now (but unfortunatelly it's over), because it has changed me, the way I am , the way I interact , and the way I think more than I could have imagined. Coming in contact with AIESEC in 2004 was the greatest thing that could have happened to me. Every day I find new opportunities to develop myself and to make a change in the world. It helped me to think outside the box(I have a @ t-shirt with this :”Think out of the box”) , overcome paradigms , open my eyes and see how many things are to be done.Because of AIESEC I developed my own personal values , a vision and I’m doing my best to achieve it.

I know that i will comeback one day. My dream is that in 2013 my company will sign partnership with AIESEC ROMANIA in NPS(the biggest national conference).

Even if my life in AIESEC has an tragic end i will support AIESEC and i will try to become partner and sustain their projects.

I will make a movie about my AIESEC XP and I will post it soon on my blog ...all the beautiful moments I've experienced, all the people I've meet and What was AIESEC for me in pictures in two greatest years I've spent in this magical organization that changed me a lot.

I hope that my AIESEC friends will remain close to me even if i'm no longer part of AIESEC.

Rediscovering the meaning of real life

The following lines contains one of the greatest experience from my real life (non-AIESEC life).On Wednesday night I was invited by somebody special for me(thanks Simo) to go to philharmonic and listen to a great concert.

It was "Carmina Burana" by Carl Orff. Carmina Burana is the largest and greatest collection of secular lyrics from the Middle Ages. It has proved useful in understanding the goliards, and it has demonstrated that music flourished widely in medieval times beyond the confines of the Church.

In 1937, the German composer Carl Orff wrote the secular cantata "Carmina Burana," which was based on the medieval poems but did not use the original melodies. Orff's work was very popular in Nazi Germany, and has since been used in numerous TV programs, advertisements and films, most notably John Boorman's Excalibur.

It was an inspiring moment for me and made me think about my future plans. I realised in this oasis of silence that sometimes it's great to escape from the real world to be with your thoughts, dreams and with special people around.Sometimes ago my favourite sentence was : "only me with my dreams&thoughts trying to enjoy the adventure of living".

I have been touched by the moment and I felt sad because I don't go to often to theathre, opera or philharmonic.I was looking around and the people were feeling great because their souls were filled by great piano music. I was impressed by the conductor that managed to be a great TEAM LEADER and his team managed to perform a great concert.

I was struck by some amazing feelings and storm of thoughts. I was thinking about my personal life vision ,my personal values and the measures that should help me to perform.

All in all It was a nice night and I want to say special thanks to Simo (one of the greatest persons I've meet till now). I feel very lucky that somebody helped me to escape and enter the real life.

Rock Me 2006

I applied as facilitator for this great conference but I wasn't selected. But I wanted to come to this conference because there many things to learn, meet old friends and understand better the changes in the organization. Besides this aspect we decided to have the NEXT planning during Rock Me and before awards gala to have a presentation.

I hadn't have the chance to go with @Iasi delegation because of some issues with my mother and I left from Iasi on Friday. I managed to arrive on Saturday but the trip wasn't so pleasant.

I had a great time, I enjoyed the atmosphere but i wasn't in the mood to network with people and I don't know why...

Next planning



I enjoyed the planning because now we have clear objectives, focus areas and SMART goals that will help us achieve our vision: We set the NEXT level of Exchange!AIESEC Romania:Striving for excellence!

I'm happy that we have a new member in our team(Michelle-intern@Cluj) and hope we will manage to bring trainees during NPS. It will be great to have a special track for them.
Also I want as NEXT member to increase the number of quality traineeships ofered by AIESEC in Romania!

I enjoyed Ciuci' speach related to Next before the awards gala, and that speech motivated me to want to achieve great results as part of National Exchange team.
Because of Michelle Next team has an roll-call but hope during NPS we will come with our dance.:)

OC:
This conference was organized by AIESEC Galati and the OCP (Codi)-one of my best friends from @Romania network- and her team did a great job. Even if they were some problems with the location I think everybody enjoyed the conference because the theme of the conference was great , the movies in the evening plenary and overall atmosphere.

LC IASI:

I felt the energy of the new generation, the passion and the ambition that they will achieve more.(team-together everybody achieves more)I felt that they are proud to be part of this great team and they "love being in AIESEC IASI" I can say that we Rocked the house because it was the first AIESEC conference where we had 4 new roll calls.
I think that we brought energy in this conference and even if the knowledge wasn't new we strived to share with others and learn from others.

Don't forget:Team iasi is what? dynamite- tic, tic, tic boom,tic tic tic boom dynamite, boom boom dynamite!
And: "Cine arde cel mai tare? Iasi-ul arde tare tare..Si sus si Jos si peste tot"

We managed to won two prizes: "Best OGX performance" and "Best Exchange Overall"... I felt emotions being in front of 100 @-ers ... But I felt proud of being part of this great team because everybody from our LC worked to achieve the Excellence!

It's been a while

It's been almost 3 months since I've last written something here.I think it was because i wasn't in the mood to share my experiences. What happened with me?

LPM 2006-Vatra Dornei
21-23 July

This conference was held at Vatra Dornei-Incom(a place full of memories because my first AIESEC conference it was in the same location) I was eager to get there and remember my first AIESEC conference. I tried to take an active role during the sessions and I tried to help the new generation understand better the changes in the organization.
Related new generation I tried to motivate them because they are the future of AIESEC IASI.





For me this conference was full of motivation and helped me to overcome some problems I had.
I would like to congratulate the OC team for their passion and because they really motivate people to come and think innovative projects for the next year.

Next experience was the OGX&PD&Communication Functional Meeting which was held at Oglinzi(13th of August-16th of August). Last year I was OCP for this national conference which was my first national conference.
This year was organized by MC and they decided to organize it close to Iasi:) My parents took me&Iulius by car and I went there from Saturday even if the conference was from Sunday. AIESEC Bucharest had the BPM in the same location and I had a great time with them on Saturday and Sunday.

I had a great time at this conference because I had an important role (I had to co-facilitate a session with our beloved MCVP OGX Mo) and I was also part of Fun team(with Andy-Brasov and Vic-Timisoara) and tried to help the OC (Dragos from Iasi -a guy that did a great job) I felt the passion , the ambition and the hard work that people will put in recruiting the new generation of leaders.

1 km away from any civilized place

TTT was a very different conference from the others that I attended till now. It was my 12th AIESEC conference and it was an important step in my @Life because it got me started in my path as a trainer.

Everything was different but it turned out to be one of the greatest conference because of the People that were there. It was a great networking experience because we were not so many and because we had to share food , the 3 rooms, the bathroom. Another interesting thing that I enjoyed a lot was the one preparing the training sessions because we were helping each other with ideas, we were encouraging ourselves and we were also having fun.

I enjoyed the moment when we had to develop the LTS agenda in our home groups :)

Also I'm happy that I had the chance to meet with my friends that were OCPs on Business Expansion Pbox: Anca(LCVP ICX @Timisoara), Adi (@Oradea) , Cristi(OCP TTT @Sibiu), Romeo (LCVP ICX @TG Mures) and with Hermina (VP PD @TG Mures), Oana (@Bu), Julie(@Sibiu-National Sol&ceed coordinator), Marius (@Sibiu), Roxi(LCP @Sibiu) , Zeno,etc

Regarding my expectations that I had before the conference I can say that were accomplished. The sessions were interesting , we had sessions with Doru , Andrei Popescu , Adishor , NTT members from which we learned a lot.

You Can 2006

My dream is to have an international experience this summer. It will be great for me if I'm selected for OC you Can 2006.

I applied today and I'm waiting anxiously for results!

Business Expansion eXperience

I have received another interesting email:

Dear members,
A year ago we launched CEE PBOXes. Hundreds of people in all CEE countries worked hard for 12 months to deliver the results. Even though we did realize as many traineeships as we planned, we learnt a lot and enabled members to live their AIESEC Experience.
Today we want to share learning points from our projects in order to help you to shape your local initatives. If you are interested in realizing projects targeting: SMEs, GOs or NGOs you should definitely familarize yourself with our outputs:

I don't know exactly from where to start because Business Expansion was one of the most amazing @Xperience that helped me in the process of being a change agent. I have learnt many useful things and because of this experience I can say that I enlarged my network of contacts and also I gained some new friends in Romania. Romanian Delegation ROCKED the Conference!


Everybody from this photo have choosen their own road in AIESEC. Romeo, Mara, Anca, Alexandra, Chipo are (VPs ICX), Chip (VP OGX), Adi (active member in @Oradea), Cristi (very active on PD in Sibiu), Elena -I don't know and not to forget Micky -Proud LCP who will lead @Constanta for success and Me (Proud member of NST @Romania on X). As you see our background is related to our favourite area (Exchange).

I remember at the end of the conference (CEE PBOX Conference -Hungary 6-9 October)after 4 days we were full of energy even if the Romanian delegation had another conference before(XMM). So everybody took the commitment that IT'S not the End...It's just the beginning of a new Experience in our @Life and we will challenge to do a great job.

Afterwards we went home and started serious work. Everybody in his own local committee.Some of us did extremely good job, some of you had to give up. Unfortunatelly overall results of CEE PBOXes failed but I hope that everybody learnt a lot from this experience.

Personal I'm more mature and I have a huge network of contacts.

An important step in the process of becoming a trainer

Yesterday I have received an email:

"Yo, AIESEC!
First of all, congratulations to all of you, and may we have a wonderful conference together! As you probably know, in order to offer you the most relevant experience, the conference date has changed with 1 day. I other words, the new dates are 30.06-3.07.
For any major complaints / impossibility to attend, we are waiting for your e-mails.Details regarding the location and how to get there will be provided in a future e-mail.For any other information, our operators are standing by ;)

My NEXT @XP will be TTT in Sibiu organized by NTT. I have been selected to participate as delegate ...This is an important step in my @Life and also for my carrer. I gave a thought of becoming a profesional trainer and also to have a training company in the future so I really consider it’s a good idea.AIESEC made me more people oriented than I was before joining it. I always liked working with people and I hope this conference will improve some skills and gonna teach me how to make a quality delivery.

I have huge expectations from this conference and I'm very happy that 75% of sessions will be held by externals.
My expectations related to this conference are:
Ø To get me started in my path as a trainer (to give me what I lack in my knowledge ,skills, attitude for being a real trainer)
Ø to increase my network of contacts (to interact will all the delegates)
Ø to develop myself, to interact with people, to learn more about what a being a great trainer means, and how to keep improving your skills,attitude and knowledge, to discover new things related to what’s behind a training, how do I make a good training…
Ø to be fun
Ø to be challenging

I'm very happy because I will meet my friends: Cristi (OCP TTT ) , Anca and Adi that were also selected for this wonderfull conference. Cristi , Anca, Adi are special friends with whom I was at Pbox Conference in Hungary.

My first step in the process of becoming a trainer had started in MPN where I had to deliver a session with Iulius about opportunities in AIESEC. I felt great and I want to apply as facilitator at Rock Me and NPS.

I'm sure I will have a great time in Sibiu ...

Latest news about me :)

It's been a while since I haven't post something on my blog. It was because of the fact that I was very busy because of the exams.

This session was very interesting because I had 6 exams (instead of 12 )...I manage to pass 5 of them with good marks. I failed at Finance ..bad luck

but my life is so interesting because I'm living diversity each day (parties, pubs , chinese food and Trainees:Luca(Italy), Paulina (Mexico), Kagan(Turkey), Yee MEE(Danemark), Stefanie(Hong-Kong) and we are waiting for Cihan (Turkey) and maybe a girl from Ukraine.
It's great to have so many foreign people in Iasi ..It's what I love most in AIESEC -this magical organization that is part of my life.

Full members validation

Yesterday was "Full members validation" in AIESEC Iasi and Yes after one year and a half of AIESEC i can say that I'm a full member. I had 9 votes pro and 4 negative votes (with 8 votes you are full member because yesterday were 13 full members and you need half plus one to become a full member...Last year in november when it was the Full members validation I had 7 votes and I needed 4 more votes to pass.

I was standing for the second time in front of the full members of our LC , realising how much I have changed , realising that @ is more about friends, passion, values about my values that I developed during LMS: Challenge -Synergy-Believe-Achieve.

I was wondering the days before validation If the full members will vote me and I had big doubts ..I don't know why but during my presentation I had emotions ...When Andreea our beloved LCP announced the results i was scared but finaly everything was ok :)

At the end:

"I love being in AIESEC IASI because this is where my friends are, this is where I learn and this way I can make a difference.The base of what I do everyday are my values, values which give me a broad perspective, which help me change myself and everything around me...
...This is how we think in over 80 countries!

For this moment I'm investing all my time in learning (I'm praying to take all the exams in the first exam session and also in National eXchange team. My dream is to go this summer at You Can.
